The Federal Skilled Trades Program is for skilled workers who want to become permanent residents based on being qualified in a skilled trade.
Requirements:
Meet required levels in English or French CLB 5 in Speaking and Listening and CLB 4 in Reading and Writing
Work experience does not need to be continuous and must be acquired after obtaining the correspondent qualifications to perform job.
Have a 2 year of full -time or equivalent work experience in a skilled trade before you apply.
Meet all job requirements for that skilled trade according to the NOC except for provincial certificate.
Have an offer (LMIA approved) of full -time employment from up to two employers for at least 1 year OR a certificate of qualification in that skilled trade issued by a Canadian provincial or territorial body.
NOC B Occupation Categories:
There are 90 NOC-B professions eligible for this immigration class.The following general categories cover these eligible occupations:
Group 72 – Industrial, electrical and construction trades
Group 73- Maintenance and equipment operation trades
Group 82- Supervisors and technical occupations in national resources, agriculture and related production
Group 92- Processing, manufacturing and utilities supervisors and central control operators
Group 632- Chefs and cooks
Group 633- Butchers and bakers
Final Step:
The applicants and their dependents must also take medical exams when selected from the express entry pool and awarded the Invitation to Apply (ITA), as part of the Canada immigration application process to obtain security clearances.
